First Guest !

Announcing my first guest....

I am VERY proud and excited to announce my first guest for the

Saturday December 10th Holiday Concert in NYC

Please Welcome:

ROCK LEGEND
** TONY HARNELL **

Being one of the world’s most gifted and respected singers is not always easy, but somehow this native Californian has managed to rise to the occasion with an air of confidence and a lot of humility. A versatile artist, Tony has been writing, singing, recording, and even photographing for most of his life. His career really took off after joining Norwegian hard rock band TNT at the age of 21, signing a deal with Mercury/Polygram soon thereafter, and going on to sell in excess of 1.5 million albums. Their accomplishments include numerous gold and platinum awards, sold out world tours, 5 top requested MTV videos, as well as a Grammy in Norway for “Rock Album of the Year”.

Journalists have described Harnell as a freak of nature, a phenomenon, a truly unique and emotionally charged vocalist who seems to defy gravity with his huge range and flexibility. He pulls you right into whatever he’s singing with his warm and genuine approach. There really is no other singer like him.

Although he is primarily a hard rock/pop singer and songwriter he fits easily into many musical styles.
One listen is all it takes for Tony Harnell to become your new favorite singer…it happens all the time!

OK how cool is that?  I am soooooooo jazzed to have Tony come up and sing a couple of songs.  He's gonna rock the house like never before  (that was my Rock and Roll Christmas reference for those of you following).

Andy Williams

OK so I've been playing Andy Williams Christmas CD "Merry Christmas Andy Williams" non-stop.  I love the music.

Classic voice, classic holiday music.

Every year I want to work on a Holiday CD and every year I seem to run out of time.  And each year I kick myself for not doing it.  Mostly because I just want to sing this great music with full orchestrations. We'll get it done...I'm determined.

Don't forget folks...tickets are seriously going quickly.  So grab them while you can.

Fat and Merry

Great googlie mooglie!

I am stuffed.  Nothing like Thanksgiving to give you that;
"Oh my god I can't eat anymore...ok where is the pie?" feeling.

Now (even thought I've been playing it for a few weeks) I can officially play Holiday music full note and I can also break out the Christmas decorations. I have to admit I've had one decoration up all year...don't tell anyone.

So I am Fat and Merry and putting up the decorations, many of which I've has since I was a kid and they hold so many memories for me.

So let's do something...anyone else out there have an old ornament or two that they've had forever? Something that has passed down through the generations?

I'd love to hear about it.  Add a comment to the blog and I'll post them.  If you have photos let me know and we'll figure out a way to get those up on the blog as well.

OK now down to the fun.  The days are getting closer and the tickets are getting more rare.

OK as a side note...I googled "old christmas ornaments" and hit "images....when you scroll down amidst all the images is a photo of Neil Patrick Harris.  Try it...I love NPH.

I have just lined up some pretty spectacular guests...

Very, VERY excited about it.

I can say this...no matter which night you attend, and no matter which city you'll be seeing the show, you're guaranteed a great line up.  In fact, you might just want to come back a second time to see the other guests.

And if you want to hear some specific Holiday Tunes...please respond in the comment section and we'll see if we can fit them into the sow this year.

Blowing Out the Candle

I've done some deep soul searching over this blog and other matters in the past month. Usually, when your soul prompts you to search inwardly, there's a discovery or change at the end of that endeavor.

I have, after much reflection, decided to end my blogging on Lessons From the Phantom of the Opera entirely. After nearly four years and 155 posts, I've done my bit in the lair and expressed my joys from center stage to the depths of the lake under the opera house. I've dissected, offered my two cents, received so many emails thanking me for my thoughts that I cannot count them all; but I will cherish every one. That, in itself, has given me great satisfaction. I've also had my share of critics, who found it necessary to slap my hand for having an opinion regarding Love Never Dies. Whatever . . .

This blog continues to receive hits worldwide, and the blog in print form continues to sell worldwide. I will not pull the blog from the Internet or the printed book. However, there will be no further posts about Phantom after this date.

My life's direction is turning elsewhere, as well as my interests and my career goals. When that happens, there are times your greatest interests must be put aside in order to pursue where your heart leads you next. I will never stop loving The Phantom of the Opera or the story it tells. It's been a huge part of my life, and I am very grateful for the experience. As far as further Phantom publications, I have people emailing me for a sequel to The Phantom of Valletta. I hadn't planned on one, but you never know what an author has up their sleeve. It may be "garbage" to some, but to others it was an enjoyable read, especially to my very kind friends on the island of Malta who embraced the story wholeheartedly. They are very gracious and generous fans. As far as the book itself, there may be some shocking surprises in the future.

For Phantom news, thoughts, and opinions, I encourage you to reach out to others in the community who are more than able to feed your need. If I have news about my publications, I'll update this site, but as far as blogging, I'm blowing out the candle. Thanks to everyone who supported me during this journey.

If you wish to follow my endeavors elsewhere, feel free to visit my official author website at http://vickihopkins.com and sign up to follow my progress on numerous other blogs and books, such as:

The Legacy Series - Historical Romance Trilogy (Books One & Two now available)

Radcliffe, a Novel - Paranormal Romance (In Progress)

Sincerely,
Vicki Hopkins aka The Phantom's Student
